What is The Wilhelmina Gebergte
The Wilhelmina Gebergte is a broad plateau region home to the Juliana top. The Juliana Top is the highest peak in Suriname. The Juliana Top is at 4,199 feet. Reaching the highest point in suriname It forms part of South America’s granitic Precambrian Guiana Shield. The shield is made of exposed ancient rock. This shield extends 70 miles from east to west. The granitic Precambrian Guiana shield divides the western district of Nickerie from the eastern districts. This shield protects rich biodiversity, beautiful rainforests. Dense Rainforests surround the Wilhelmina Gebergte. The Wilhelmina Gebergte gradually descends into two different ranges, the Bakhuis Gebergte to the west and the Emmaketen to the east. The Wilhelmina Gebergte has many plants and animals living on the plateau. These animals include monkeys, wild pigs, deer, jaguars, and ocelots. Some reptiles live on the Wilhelmina Gebergte, such as boa constrictors
